IceMobile nominated for Webby Award

The Webby Awards, hailed as the "Oscars of the Internet" by the New York Times, recognized LiveCastr as an Official Honoree in the category Mobile Social Networking, a distinction that recognizes work exhibiting remarkable achievement.

LiveCastr, developed by “World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer” IceMobile in cooperation with Muse, will enable the next phase of online social networking. Through LiveCastr people can broadcast live video directly from their mobile phones to the web, allowing their online friends to follow them from any event, anytime, anywhere. The live video can be viewed on the LiveCastr website or on a LiveCastr player that users can place on their personalized profile page on their favourite online social network.

LiveCastr was launched in private beta in January of this year, during the Annual Meeting in Davos. Over the last months, IceMobile has developed partnerships with social networks and signed deals with leading advertisers that will use LiveCastr to reach and interact with their customers.

The 12th Annual Webby Awards received nearly 10,000 entries from over 60 countries and all 50 states.
