At IceMobile we organize several events like our Friday Intersections and meet-ups. The purpose of our Friday Intersections is to be inspired by internal or external professionals so that we continue to do epic shit! At the same time, we are happy and open to host meet-up groups. Knowing more creative minds, broadening our horizons. That’s why the meet-ups we host are linked to what we do: design, UX, coding… Every group is welcome if it is the perfect fit to us, as well. So, last week we had one of those amazing meet-ups in our Amsterdam HQ: Ladies that UX Amsterdam.

Seyma Turan- Aslinur Ozkara

We were very excited to host the group, since UX is a very important part of our products. Although the name just involves “ladies”, it doesn’t mean that men are not allowed! As we have seen, the male population who came for the meet-up was very well represented.

Ladies that UX creates a space for women in UX and tech scene of all levels to engage and talk about their experiences, both positive and negative, and get the support and inspiration that they are looking for. During the meet-up, guests had the opportunity to listen two different redesign case studies by speakers from Booking and MediaMonks. While Martin Kool talked how you design a website that adapts to the individual visitor re-designing of the recruiting website of the U.S. Air Force, Tassia Pellegrini showed us Booking’s approach to redesign their customer service platform . The talks and the discussion part were very informative and inspiring to see different approaches in UX.

It was also a good networking opportunity for the participants, therefore Saskia, on behalf of IceMobile gave a talk about what we do as a company and highlighted our company values. Make it happen and #<3 were the values that the attendees talked about the most. They find it highly interesting - of course they did ;) -

Besides the values the other thing that catch people’s attention was the nice buffet that we had. Did someone said food? For the meet-ups we usually offer our guests pizza and beer, but the ladies asked us to arrange a healthy menu. So, as foodies it was a very easy task to arrange since every day we have a very nice and healthy salad bar offered here at the office.

At the end of the day meet-up was a success both for the participants and for IceMobile as the host.

There are still meet-ups to come in the following weeks, so you will too have an opportunity to visit us at the office.
